Writing for Stage and Screen with Mark Medoff

The Las Cruces Press Women hosts "Writing for Stage and Screen with Mark Medoff" on Saturday, February 4, at 10 AM. It will be held in the Road Runner Room (second floor) at the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave. The event is free and open to the public but we request an RSVP to to help give Mr. Medoff an idea of how many people are coming.

Mark Medoff is an American playwright, screenwriter, film and theatre director, actor, and professor. His play Children of a Lesser God received both the Tony Award and the Olivier Award. He was nominated for an Academy Award and a Writers Guild of America Best Adapted Screenplay Award for the film script of Children of a Lesser God and for a Cable ACE Award for his HBO Premiere movie, Apology. He also received an Obie Award for his play When You Comin' Back, Red Ryder?

Medoff was co-founder of the American Southwest Theatre Company and head of the Department of Theatre Arts for nine years at New Mexico State University, where he has been a professor for a total of twenty-seven years and currently is teaching Screenwriting and Acting for Film, Short Film Production, and Film Directing and Producing. He is currently the Creative Director of the Creative Media Institute at NMSU, the film dept at the university.
